The Minnesota Wild opened 2014-2015 with lots of hope, but had begun to slide down a slippery slope until the start of February. Since February 1st, the team has gone 11-3 and has started to revive their playoff chances. Now, they are currently playoff-eligible. They still sit in fifth place in the Central division, and Zach Parise has been playing like an All-Star. His 46 points and his 9 points in the month of February have propelled this team back into winning hockey.

They are the second-best penalty killing team in the NHL, and play solid defense all around. They are 12th best in goals against average in the NHL. Also, since they are starting to score more goals, they have propelled themselves into the 13th-best goals per game average. However, they have been abysmal on the power play, scoring on just over 15 percent of their chances. It is imperative that the Wild improve that mark if they are to make progress towards the tops of the Western Conference.

Ticket prices are starting to show due to the improved play of the Wild. The average price for their eight home games in the month of March is $170.80 on the secondary or resale market according to TiqIQ.com. As we near playoff time, these prices are subject to increase.

Because of this, their home games against playoff teams are starting to command big prices. Their most expensive game at the Xcel Energy Center this month is averaging $247.05 on the secondary market. That matchup will be against the Blues of St. Louis on March 21st. However, fans looking to just get into the arena will pay a total of $67.00.  There is no doubt that the battle between Parise and Blues goaltender Brian Elliott will be entertaining to watch.

Even their most inexpensive games have average prices above $100.00. Their most inexpensive game comes on March 12th as they square off against the New Jersey Devils. Although the Devils are struggling, it will be highly entertaining to watch Parise face off against his old team again. The average price for this contest is $112.29 on the secondary market, but you can get into the Xcel Energy Center for just $42.00.

Follow the Wild wherever they play as they chase for that playoff spot. With a few clicks, Hipmunk.com can help you arrange flights to Minneapolis or even reserve hotels near the Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild are right where they want to be in the race for the Stanley Cup. They will need to improve on the power play if they hope to advance deep into the playoffs. Goaltenders play their best in May and June, so goals come at a premium. Minnesota has to capitalize.
