Today’s interesting headline of the day is that Ray Emery is ‘looking forward to his NHL return with the Flyers’ according to TSN. I don’t know that Flyers fans are feeling quite the same way given that they just replaced two off and on mediocre goaltenders with an off and on mediocre goaltender who has tons of off-ice issues. Same thing really, except one features all kinds of fun entertainment! So, here’s a list of things that Flyers fans have to look forward to with Ray Emery coming to town. You can thank me later.
Oh and one note before we start, according to Emery spending a year in the KHL is like ‘having the game taken away’. Good to know if you’re an NHLer planning on jumping ship anytime soon. Anyway, here’s what Philly has to look forward to:
– Emery showing up at the practice facility for games.
– Having another reason to boo, yell obscenities and get generally upset at a sporting event.
– Another asshole driving a Hummer cutting you off on the Turnpike.
– An outlet for anger when Donovan McNabb eventually chokes/gets injured/blows the Eagles’ season.
– A new friend to get random tattoos with.
– A new source of tax revenue (see: speeding tickets).
– Using Danny Briere’s locker as a shoe closet.
– Another asshole driving a Hummer cutting you off on the Turnpike and then threatening to kill you.
– Someone who will dare your star player to eat bugs off the locker room floor.
– Another early playoff exit thanks to the Penguins.
